Tomales Farm & Dairy, a limited liability company formed by John Williams of Frog’s Leap Winery and Ted Hall of Long Meadow Ranch, has recently acquired the 505-acre Cerini Ranch, located within and around the unincorporated village of Tomales, in west Marin County.
Situated along the Tomales-Petaluma Road on the east and west side of State Highway 1, the ranch has been owned by the Cerini family since 1925. Numerous structures, including two barns and a pair of silos that are a familiar part of the visible landscape of the town, still occupy the lands on the north side of the Tomales-Petaluma Road just east of the village center.
The Cerini Ranch has long been a vital part of the agricultural heritage and history of the Tomales community. This project plan has been developed to conform to the major goals and objectives of the Tomales Community Plan, and Tomales Farm & Dairy, led by Williams and Hall, intends to retain the majority of the Cerini Ranch in permanent agricultural use, particularly those large tracts of land that surround the village of Tomales.
